New Blog From Joey!
Hi everyone,

We hope you're enjoying the summer, we sure are.  As I write this, we're up in New Hampshire playing a show with Zac Brown Band tonight.  We've had such a wonderful time being out on road with Zac and the guys these last few months.  The crowds have been amazing and it's just been an absolute joy.  We're so proud of their success and even prouder of the people that they are and the way that they've accepted us into their 'family'.  While we're talking about Zac, I want to make sure we tell you about our new single "This Song's For You".  It's a song that Rory wrote with Zac and we all started playing out on the west-coast tour this past March.  From the first night we played it, we knew it was something special.  We can't wait for you to hear it.  If you haven't yet, it's now up on our website....and as the title says, 'this song's for you'...and it really is.  If you go to joeyandrory.com, you can download the song for free.  It's also up on iTunes as a 45 single (the B-side is "You Ain't Woman Enough...our version of the old Loretta Lynn song).  The song just shipped to radio stations all across the country, so please call your local station and request it if you would!  Also, we just finished the new video for the song, and it is so awesome!  We can't wait for you to see it.  Most of it was shot right in the local community where we live...along with some live footage of us at the Opry and on stage with Zac while we were on tour.

When we've had a little bit of downtime (and that hasn't been much), I've been in my garden at home...weeding, watering and now harvesting all the vegetables I've been growing since April.  We have sweet corn, turnips, radishes, red and gold potatoes, tomatoes, squash, pumpkins, onions, green beans and okra...just to name a few of the things that are coming in!  It's so exciting.  I love working in the garden and growing the food that I feed my family.

Rory has been enjoying his summer too.  He spends his spare time tinkering on his old cars in the barn and working on music business things that I'm not any good at (cd artwork, video editing, etc...).  He's still writing songs when he has the chance, and a few months back, his song "A Little More Country Than That" (recorded by Easton Corbin) went #1 on the country charts!!  What a blessing!  I'm so proud of him.

Our little restaurant Marcy Jo's is going great.  When I can, I still come down and put on an apron and pitch in and bake breads or wait tables.  Rory still goes down there from breakfast every day when he's at home and has coffee with his local friends and visits with all the folks that come in from out of town and even out of state, a lot of the time.  So if you passing through our area, please stop in for breakfast or lunch.  You can find more info on our website or at marcyjos.com.

Our brand new cd is finally finished!!!  It's called "Album Number Two" and it goes into the CD manufacturing plant this week to get made.  It will be in stores everywhere on Sept 14th, so mark it on your calendar if you can.  We'll send out more info about it in another newsletter as it gets closer.  It's been a labor of love and we're so excited to share it with everyone.

Thank you again for all your support and love over the last two years.  It's been so beautiful to travel from town and meet so many wonderful people that have been rooting for us from day one!   We hope to get the chance to say hi and meet you all if we play in or near your hometown areas.  We still take pics and say hi to everyone after the shows, whenever the venue will let us (and that's most of the time!).

Keeping it country,

Joey (and Rory)
